Gateway To the Future campaign raising money to enhance students education

complex, with additional resources being
pursued for its completion within the

Gateway Campaign during her freshman
year at Simpson. An employee
in the marketing department, she has
worked with the campaign for nearly
three years.
"It's been such a good experience,"
she said. "I really love this university
and I want to help it grow."
Her help has included event planning,
such as dessert nights, volunteerinitiated
open homes, donor receptions and the annual campaign banquet, which is often highly successful. Meanwhile, Flinn keeps a combined tally of pledges and received funds. As of Jan. 31, 2009, they total almost $7.5 million. In addition,
two individuals have pledged $1
million, he said, committed to be fully
paid by the December deadline.
"We regularly get asked 'When will
we build one of the buildings and which
one comes first?' The decision will be
driven by when the money is raised,
where it is designated and the costs."
