In the summer of 1955, Simpson Bible Institute in Seattle, Wash., moved its campus to the foggy banks of the San Francisco bay area for many reasons, including the fact that they wanted a more centrally located west coast campus and larger buildings to accommodate the growing college.

In the biggest visitation time of the year, Simpson University has decided to break Genesis weekend from its normal format to take on a new image. March 13 through March 15 is a time for prospective students, families and even church youth groups to come and see if Simpson is right for them.
Gateway To the Future campaign raising money to enhance students education

On April 5, 2008, Simpson University President Larry McKinney announced the public phase of the university's Gateway to the Future Campaign, a drive to raise $13 million by Dec. 31, 2010. The money raised through the campaign will finance a number of projects that university administration believes will offer increased relevancy to students seeking quality education.

"I like to hold the book, personally," says Suzanne Wheeler, self proclaimed "organized freak" and coordinator of technical services at Simpson's Start- Kilgour Memorial Library. Wheeler says that even in the digital age we live in, a majority of Simpson students still feel the same.
East forty acres used for ROTC and Cross Country

The "back forty" is a term familiar to every Simpson University student, but when used outside this bubble it is completely irrelevant and unrecognizable. The back forty actually does not lie in the back of campus but on the east side, extending out forty acres and consisting of woodland and prairie like grounds.
